FAQs - Choosing Cartridges, Needle Lengths & Speed
Which type of cartridge should I use?
Choosing the right cartridge is one of the most important decisions in your microneedling routine. Each cartridge type is designed for a specific treatment purpose — using the wrong one can reduce your results or cause unnecessary discomfort.
Nano Cartridges
Nano tips are made from pyramid-shaped filaments that push active ingredients into the epidermis without puncturing the skin. There is no controlled injury — this is a painless, no-downtime treatment that improves serum absorption by up to 97%. Ideal for brightening, hydration, pigmentation, pore refinement, and sensitive skin. No numbing cream required.
11 & 12 Needle Cartridges
A smaller needle cluster suited to precision work on delicate or targeted areas — such as around the eyes, lips, deep scars and wrinkles. The lower needle count creates greater penetration depth per needle (the Fakir effect), making these ideal for Collagen Induction Therapy on specific concerns.
16 & 18 Needle Cartridges
A wider cluster that covers more surface area per pass, making treatments faster and more efficient across larger facial zones. Well-suited for general rejuvenation, skin texture, anti-ageing, and acne scarring. A versatile choice for most Collagen Induction Therapy applications.
36 Needle Cartridges
Maximum coverage per pass with more distributed microchannels. Best suited for Cosmetic Needling on larger or more sensitive areas of the face and body — including the décolletage, scalp (hair loss treatment), and stretch marks. The higher needle count means shallower penetration per needle, offering a gentler stimulation.
Which needle length should I use?
Needle depth should be matched to the treatment area and your skin's tolerance. Nano infusion is set at 0.25mm. Cosmetic Needling should not exceed 0.50mm. For Collagen Induction Therapy, use the guide below as a starting point:
| Region | Recommended Depth |
| Forehead | 0.25 – 0.5 mm |
| Between Eyebrows | 0.25 – 0.5 mm |
| Nose | 0.25 – 0.5 mm |
| Eye Area | 0.25 mm |
| Cheekbone | 0.5 mm |
| Cheek | 0.5 – 1.0 mm |
| Around Lips | 0.25 mm |
| Chin | 0.5 – 1.0 mm |
| Neck | 0.5 mm |
| Scar | 1.0 mm |
| Stretch Mark | 1.0 mm |
What speed settings should I use?
Start with the recommended settings below and adjust to what feels comfortable for you. Many people find higher speeds more comfortable once they're familiar with the device.
| Depth | Recommended Speed |
| Under 0.5 mm | Speed 1–2 |
| 0.5 – 0.75 mm | Speed 2–3 |
| 0.75 – 1.00 mm | Speed 3–4 |
