Which is the best Dr.pen?

All our Dr. Pen devices are great home microneedling devices, so choosing the device for you ultimately comes down to personal preference, budget, packaging appearance, and functionality. Here I have outlined in detail specific features and benefits of each device.

Dr.pen Ultima A6 Professional Plus

The Dr. Pen Ultima A6 Microneedling Pen is a workhorse and my personal favourite Dr.pen for professional or home use; The A6 was my 1st Dr. Pen I owned and I recommend it for Nano-needling, cosmetic needling and CIT. This pen does everything. It is extremely effective on fine lines and wrinkles, scars and acne scars, texture, open pores, stretch marks, hair growth, and more.

Besides providing excellent results in a short period of time, it is easy to use, safe, comfortable, and hygienic as the cartridges are, individually-sealed, single-use and disposable.

This pen is equipped with various types of cartridges, in the box it comes with 2 x 12 pins needles and you can also purchase Nano, 12 pin and 36 pin. In addition, 2 x rechargeable batteries are included, which can last up to 8 hours on a single charge. In terms of professional use, the A6 will keep going and going! You can use it either wired or wireless, so you can be sure that you will never be without your A6.

Its ergonomic shape fits comfortably in your hand and the pen has an adjustable length of between 0.25-2.5 mm. You can adjust the needle depth smoothly using a rotary dial. The easily adjusted dial makes it convenient if you’re adjusting depths often like when doing CIT. The A6 cartridges have a 0.25 needle diameter (average diameter for needling pens), the 0.25 needle diameter makes it best for treating deep scars and stretch marks. It has 5 different speed levels to choose from, you can adjust the speed by pressing the button fitted in the body of the pen. The powerful motor is capable of putting down an impressive 1800 punchers per minute on its highest speed level. In other words = delivers more micro channels into your skin.

The only downside is that there is no digital display to show the speed, it has instead a flashing light on the button that indicates the speed, every time you increase the speed, the light will flash faster.

Pros

  • Lightweight.
  • User-friendly and effective.
  • Needle adjustment from 0.25-2.5 mm.
  • Five-level speed adjustment.
  • Can be used wired or wired.
  • Battery lasts 8 hours on a single charge
  • 8000 - 18000 RPM
  • Affordable

Cons

  • No digital display to show the speed.

Dr.pen Ultima-M8

The Dr. Pen Ultima M8 micro-needling pen is a top performing microneedling pen for professional or personal use; it is unrivalled when it comes to achieving a healthy, glowing, and plumped skin with minimal downtime.

It comes with a built-in battery, so you charge the whole unit through plugging it directly to the power source, and you can use it wired or wireless.

Furthermore, the pen has six levels of speed and a digital LED display to show the speed. The pen also has three cartridge locks to help secure the cartridges firmly in position, making the cartridge super safe.

The M8 comes with 2 x 16 pin needles cartridges and you can purchase 4 different types of cartridges for you M8, which are Nano, 11 pin, 16-pin, 36-pin. It addition, it comes with a rotary dial that allows you to adjust the length of the needles between 0.25 and 2.5 mm. One key thing for me is M8 has a 16 needle cartridge, 0.18 ultra thin needle diameter, its the finest Dr. Pen needle cartridges on the market. The M8 needles penetrate ultra fine microscopic channels which causes less trauma, less pain and faster recovery. It is most suitable for all applications including CIT. The cartridges are hygienic, disposable and one-time use.

This M8 does it all, it helps boost collagen production, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, treat acne scars, even out the skin’s tone and texture, stimulate hair growth, treat stretch marks, minimise pores, and more.

Dr.pen Ultima-E30

I love the champagne gold aluminium casing and the rose gold rotary dial. Its an attractive pen and the ergonomic design with a comfortable grip certainly feels easy to hold. The E30 is a great starter pen, and a trusty performer with an affordable price tag of $199. The E30 is perfectly capable of treating all concerns and applications from Nano through to CIT,  it helps boost the absorption of skincare products.

It comes with a built-in battery, you charge the whole unit by plugging it directly to the power source, and you can use it wired or wireless. The pen has 5 levels of speed, ranging from 800-1500 Rpm at its top speed. The E30 comes equiped with 2 x 12 needle cartridges, and we can also supply you with more, 12, Nano and 36 cartridges.

The pen has an adjustable length of between 0.25-2.5 mm and you can adjust it with the rotary dial, now a point worth noting is that the dial won’t adjust as freely as other pens. This is not a design fault, I feels its actually a precision, because the E30 is designed with Nano, cosmetic needling in mind, also makes a great derma pen for BB Glow treatments. Its perfect for Nano and cosmetic needling as we keep the dial stationary, so its actually a very good feature in terms of safety, because you can feel ensured that you won’t slip into needling at deeper levels. The cartridges are hygienic, disposable and one-time use.

Pros

  • Lightweight, attractive design
  • Pen like grip allows users to work for long periods of time comfortably
  • Easy to use, hygienic, and effective.
  • Needle adjustment from 0.25-2.5 mm.
  • 5 Speed levels from 8.000 to 1500 RPM
  • Built in battery lasts 4 up to hours on a single charge in wireless mode
  • Can be used wired or wireless.
  • Affordable at $199

Cons

  • Doesn’t come with separate batteries.
  • Rotary dial doesn’t adjust as freely, this may be a negative for you if you want to use it for CIT
